Steering evidence

Trail depends on wheel and fork assumptions, so compare values with their recorded provenance.

What trail means

Trail is the ground distance between the steering-axis intercept and the front tire contact point. It is affected by head tube angle, wheel radius and fork offset, so a trail number without those assumptions is incomplete context.

Compare configurations

Use the same wheel and tire configuration when comparing trail. A manufacturer-published value and a RideDNA-derived value should remain clearly labeled because different inputs or conventions can produce different results.
